Hi all,
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!
It's amazing to see how the official RSI TGwS Org has grown from 4 members when I joined, oh so many years ago, to now, 388 members strong. Watching the larger gaming community grow here at the official site has also been an equally amazing thing to witness.
The promise of Star Citizen, to me, has always been the vision Chris Roberts and his every growing team have allowed me (and an every growing community) to be a part of. A vision that not only includes a sprawling, extremely ambitious Galaxy wide sand box to play in but also a community of fellow travelers interested in exploring that deep black.
As we all know, development of any game can be a difficult and iterative process. Internal development is hard enough but bringing a community along for the ride, at times, can make that process all the more difficult for not only the development staff but also the fans desperate to play the finished game.
My views have always been consistent - development is time consuming, difficult and ever changing. But progress, however slow, does come and what I see from Star Citizen is the same thing I saw when I first backed.
Progress.
I don't suspect we'll see a finished game until early 2020 so for me it's easy to sit back, play test and enjoy what is released when it's ready for testing. I'm a big fan of 3.0 and look forward to it's developing through quarterly releases thought-out 2018. Much like that first release of Arena Commander; where it started and where AC is today continues to give me confidence in where 3.0 is today and where it will be in the future.
With that said.
With the changes to the TGwS PodCast in the works, my ever challenging work schedule and a desire to realign some of my focus in 2018 I've come to the decision that it is now a good time to step away from the PodCast. Doing the PodCast for the last 2 plus years has been an amazing experience and I cherish the friends I've made a long the way. I'll miss it but like anything in life, change is inevitably and I feel it's time to step away.
As many are aware I'm not on the forums much (life and what not) but if anyone direct messages me, either here or on Discord I'm happy to reply.
See you all in the 'verse and thank you for everything!
